Hardy King is the owner of Kings' Furniture Revival. He has been in business since October 1996.  Hardy's interest in furniture began in North Carolina in the early '70s while taking cabinetmaking courses in high school where he designed, built, and finished several pieces of furniture. Later he salvaged an oak, swivel desk chair from the trash, which had been burned but had the potential to be be renewed. Without a shop or equipment to build, this endeavor gave him the opportunity to still work with wood and furniture, and thus began his interest in refinishing.

KFR began in October 1996. As the business grew more space was needed to accommodate the growth, in August 2001 KFR moved from the garage to the present store-front location located at 96 Ashbourne Road in Irmo, SC.

The desire to operate his business working at something he enjoyed on a full-time basis inspired him to reach for that dream. After two years of constant prayer, listening, consideration, planning, tinges of fear, and more prayer, the word came loud and clear from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "If you trust me, do it! If you don't, don't."

Often we have a desire for something, but lack the courage to reach out for it. God's Word says, "With man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible". (Matt 19:26)

Our company name, with the plural possessive King(s') gives glory, honor and praise to the King of Kings, Jesus Christ, who we are in joint ownership with. Our focus being the "Revival" of old or new furniture. "Bring it Back to Life" is our slogan. Our logo is designed and hand-drawn by Hardy.

Over the years Hardy refinished furniture as a hobby. He collected "left behind" pieces while working in the real estate business, salvaged pieces from dumpsters and roadside trash, refinished furniture for friends, and restored family heirlooms. Each piece of furniture came to life again. Repaired, refinished, restored, revived!!
